The 2021 OPGA Freedom Award

Premier Prosthetics and Orthotics is proud to announce that we are one of the few recipients of the 2021 OPGA Freedom Award, a distinction given to those who practice the clinical application of prosthetic and orthotic devices. There are many practices across the United States that perform this role well, but PPO has been recognized for their exceptional services to veterans and those who have been injured in service to our country by the Orthotic and Prosthetic Group of America.

The OPGA is a division of VGM Associates that helps support and facilitate collaboration of independent O&P professionals. Being the largest O&P network in the United States (by membership), they represent hundreds of facilities across the nation. They’re an amazing organization to partner with and provide resources for many independent practices. That’s why we’re thrilled to accept their 2021 Freedom Award.

The OPGA Freedom Award is bestowed annually on Veteran’s Day to O&P providers that go above and beyond to assist combat veterans who have lost one or more limbs in the line of duty. “During every major conflict, combat injuries have caused large numbers of service members to lose one or more of their limbs.” OPGA President Todd Eagen reflects on the effects of war. “These brave individuals are one of the most visible and enduring reminders of the cost and sacrifices of protecting our great country. Thanks to the high level of medical care delivered by independent O&P providers, most of these young men and women will go on to live full and productive civilian lives or return to military duty if they so desire.”

We consider it an honor to be counted among the providers who makes a difference in the lives of our bravest citizens. PPO is committed to helping veterans with limb loss find the resources and support they need to achieve recovery and rehabilitation. Once again, we’d like to thank the OPGA for granting us the Freedom Award, and we hope that we can live up to the distinction.
